Ali Khamenei accuses US, France and Britain of crime

Khamenei has harshly responded to the Syrian operation of the West Coalition, APA reports. On Monday seven Iranian personnel were among 14 people killed in an early-morning strike on the T-4 airbase in Syria, with regime allies Iran and Russian Federation blaming Israel for the attack.

"I overtly declare that the presidents of the United States and France and the prime minister of Britain have committed crimes (in Syria) and are criminals", Khamenei said in a meeting with Iranian officials and the ambassadors of Islamic countries on his official website.

The U.S. -led coalition strikes in Syria were created to deter President Bashar Assad's regime from launching further chemical attacks without collapsing his shaky government and drawing the United States further into a lengthy civil war. "They are crimes of a monster instead", he said.

Netanyahu said that it should be "clear to President Assad that "his reckless efforts to acquire and use weapons of mass destruction, his wanton disregard for global law and his provision of a forward base for Iran and its proxies endanger Syria".

"An act of aggression against a sovereign state that is on the frontline in the fight against terrorism was committed without a mandate from the UN Security Council and in violation of the UN Charter and norms and principles of global law", Putin said.

"As we have repeatedly emphasized, the presence of any foreign forces in Syria without its government's permission is against worldwide regulations and is a violation of Syria's territory", Rouhani said. "The country's people are the main decision-makers".

On Friday night, the U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the U.S., the United Kingdom and France jointly launched strikes targeting the Assad regime's chemical weapons capabilities after a suspected chemical attack killed dozens outside of Damascus.

"However, the Syrian people will annul the plots to change the situation in favor of the terrorist groups", it added. For them, Syria is less important than US President Donald Trump's decision on the Iranian nuclear deal, due in less than a month, on May 12.

Trump said that the goal of the response "is to establish a strong deterrent against the production, spread, and use of chemical weapons", Trump said. If neither the Russians nor the Syrian government care what happened to Iran's "military advisers" during the missile strikes, why would they want to stay there?
