HIGH SCHOOL BOYS LACROSSE: Lake Norman secures outright conference lead

Lake Norman returns to the field when tuning up for later in the week's Conference 13 finale by stepping outside the league boundary to play host to perennial state lacrosse power Charlotte Catholic on Tuesday night.

Eric Pincus would put together two goals early in the fourth quarter to finish with 4 goals, as the Quakers put up a season-high in goals for the 4th time in their 4 victories this year.

COACH PRESSLER'S COMMENTS "It's hard to fathom for us that we could be outplayed in every facet of the game like that, other than the face-off". I know their head coach well - he's been one of my guys for a very long time. "We still got to play them again. Hats off to him; credit goes to them". We can't spot teams four goals because we've got 15 players. We have Hobart Saturday at home on Senior Day. We're still in it to win it ...

Virginia opened the game with a pair of goals in the opening five minutes, but Blalock's back-to-back goals knotted the game back up.

Tecumseh picked up the pace in the second half, but the Dreadnaughts continued to pour it on as the lead grew to 13-2.

Then second half, Eastlake's Aubree Blanchard scores off the penalty as the Titans win this one, 12 to 4, final. Madeline Cloyd, Lauren Zinkl and Bronwyn Patterson each chipped in with two goals and Carly Mansur made six saves for South River (8-0). 35 seconds later, it was junior Midfielder Bob Pelton, who scored his second goal of the season, making it 11-9 with just 1:02 left. It was now Wagner's turn to respond as the Seahawks unleashed yet another 5-0 run, capped by a score from Anna Belle Reilly, off of a Colford assist, with 6:05 left which put the Seahawks back on top, 11-10.

Alex Richardson had three goals while Aidan Ryan and John Ipri scored two goals apiece for Delran, which scored four goals in the second quarter to force a tie at the half. Tanner was flawless through five innings in the circle and added a game-high three hits at the plate, with her courtesy runner Brittany Powell scoring twice.

The Bulldogs held a 26-21 advantage in ground balls.

Saint Joseph's improves to 4-4 against Bryant.

The seven goals matched a season-low.
