Jimmy Kimmel tries to tone down feud with Sean Hannity

Kimmel left a parting shot for his critic: "I am hopeful that Sean Hannity will learn from this too and continue his newly-found advocacy for women, immigrants and First Ladies and that he will triumph in his heroic battle against sexual harassment and perversion".

If you're wondering why Kimmel even used Melania as the butt of his joke, he made it clear.

The feud started when Hannity blasted Kimmel for making fun of first lady Melania Trump in a recent Late Show segment and dredged up clips from "The Man Show", a Comedy Central show Kimmel co-hosted that used sketches to mock a stereotypically boorish male perspective.

"While I admit I did have fun with our back and forth, after some thought, I realize that the level of vitriol from all sides (mine and me included) does nothing good for anyone and, in fact, is harmful to our country", he wrote, citing that he and his family had been receiving death threats from angry Hannity fans. "Mrs. Trump nearly certainly has enough to worry about without being used as a prop to increase TV ratings".

Sean Hannity agreed to a truce with Jimmy Kimmel on Monday night after the ABC comedian called for a ceasefire after last week's explosive Twitter fight. I'll have a full and comprehensive response tomorrow on Hannity.

"Dees and dat", Kimmel repeated, with a laugh.

Hannity responded the next day on his show by calling Kimmel an "ass-clown".

"Game on", Hannity said on Friday. Hey, Mr. Kimmel, that's her fifth language. "Even her accent. Now, I'm going to tell you something: What a disgrace".

As Hannity reviewed Kimmel's public apology, he remarked that it felt like "a forced, Disney corporate apology". "My bet is that you'll acutally agree with me on a lot more issues than you think", he said.

After some more verbal jabs back-and-forth on Twitter, Kimmel crossed the line by bringing Hannity's 16-year-old daughter into the feud, asking: "Would you want your daughter being "grabbed by the p*ssy?"

Kimmel offered a cease fire, and a mild apology, to the Fox News host on Sunday.

So stay tuned. Or don't, if you don't happen to care what Sean Hannity's response is. This infuriated the gay community, which is the real reason he said "sorry" to Hannity.
