Knicks Get Permission to Talk to Former Coach Mike Woodson

The New York Knicks are looking north of the border for a new head coach.

According to ESPN, Knicks president Steve Mills and the team's general manager Scott Perry told Hornacek he was sacked after they returned to NY after beating the Cavs 110-98 at the Quicken Loans Arena. Among those on the list are David Fizdale, Mark Jackson, Jerry Stackhouse and David Blatt. "I'm sure the front office, they will make the right decisions and build something that can go a long way", Porzingis said.

The news of KP's injury sent shockwaves not only through NY but throughout the basketball world, as one of the league's brightest young stars would be forced to make a lengthy and tedious recovery - one that doesn't always guarantee a successful return.

Woodson, 60, was sacked by then-Knicks president Phil Jackson following the 2013-14 season - without a meeting - after the team missed the playoffs by one game. It was waived after less than a year when he was bought out of his contract. He did so due to frustration over the drama and dysfunction surrounding the organization. At the end of the day, you want to come to NY, based on my body of work there.

The Knicks are searching for a new coach and some interesting names are starting to pop up as candidates. He's been eying a potential job in the National Basketball Association as a head coach, so this would be a great opportunity for the 18-year National Basketball Association veteran guard.

Here are five things the Knicks should look to accomplish this offseason in order to further accelerate their rebuild. "It's tough to imagine already that decision and me trying to make that decision right now". So whenever I see myself ready and whenever my team allows me to come back, I'll come back.

There is no timetable for Porzingis' return, but he is expected to be sidelined until at least December.
