Leaked Apple memo urges employees to stop leaking company info

Posted to an internal blog, Apple said that in 2017, 29 leakers were caught and 12 of those people were arrested. "While it may seem flattering to be approached, it's important to remember that you're getting played", it stated, adding that once a person loses their job for leaking, finding employment elsewhere could be hard.

Over the last few years, Apple has successfully persuaded its customers to increase what they pay for phones from an average of somewhere around $600 to almost $800.BI IntelligenceAt the same time, Apple's three-pronged strategy is to persuade repeat customers to pay more for newer products while offering cheaper devices for first-time customers. "We want the chance to tell our customers why the product is great, and not have that done poorly by someone else", says Greg Joswiak of Product Marketing. For now only the iPhone X comes with a notch unlike the iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus. According to a Global Security presentation leaked to The Outline previous year, the department employs an undisclosed number of investigators who previously worked "at U.S. intelligence agencies like the National Security Agency (NSA), law enforcement agencies like the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Secret Service, and in the U.S. military". Although the documents in the filing were processed in September 2017, there are indications that Apple prepared them as early as July.

Apple had previously denied any plans around possibly killing its service but, as of last month that changed. Global Security's digital forensics also helped catch several employees who were feeding confidential details about new products including iPhone X, iPad Pro and AirPods to a blogger at 9to5Mac.

Apple has a workforce of 135,000, and one of the biggest and most convoluted supply chains in the business, so clamping down on leaks is going to be hard.

They threw all kinds of claims against me, I had a good lawyer that completely understood the problem, did good research, and read the law correctly. "The best way to honor those contributions is by not leaking".
