LeBron James Still Confident After Cavaliers' Shock Loss To Pacers

"The oldest National Basketball Association playoff cliche snaked its way into the Cavaliers" locker room Sunday.Hasn't been around these parts much, because, well, losing Game 1 of a first-round series is not something they do.

LeBron James finished the game with a triple-double tallying 24 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds while Victor Oladipo led the way for the Pacers with 32 points, 4 assists, and 6 rebounds.

IN was in control from the outset, opening a 21-point lead in the first quarter and leading by 23 in the third.

The Cavs are hoping that's the case, and when they step on the court Wednesday night for Game 2 they'll already have something they didn't have Sunday - a playoff game under their belts.

The defeat also means the 33-year-old now lost a first round game for the first time since 2012 when the New York Knicks beat the Miami Heat.

The Pacers shot over 45 percent from the field, hit eleven 3-pointers and forced 16 turnovers. Green's minus-15 in his 27 minutes was the worst on the team, as he contributed almost nothing in the humiliating Game 1 loss.

And that's fine! LeBron in the first round of the playoffs has been won of the surest bets in sports; he hadn't lost a game in the opening round since 2o12.

"My teammates did a great job of making plays and getting stops like we have all year long".

It was all Pacers early on as IN started the game on a blazing 20-6 run, IN due part to the wine and gold not being able to find any rhythm offensively, and struggled to hit shots. Indicative of the Cavs' shooting struggles was the fact that Love was held scoreless until hitting a 3-pointer from the right corner with 1:51 left in the half.

LeBron James had a performance to remember on a night to forget. The Pacers built a 21-point lead in the first quarter and completely outplayed the three-time defending Eastern Conference champions. Of course, 0-for-7, zero points, we know he has to be better.

"You could say it added fuel to the fire, I guess you could say", Oladipo said after Game 1. James and Love combined for two points - they belonged to James, on two free throws with 1:52 left.

The Wine and Gold have just four players on their roster from that historic title-winning squad and are missing the brilliance of Kyrie Irving to help James carry the load. Cleveland was down 19 after the opening quarter and despite their best efforts, couldn't throw a serious scare into IN the rest of the way. At the end of the day you've just got to go out there and do what you do."Hill, Love hurtCavaliers point guard George Hill hurt his back when he was crushed from behind on a screen by Trevor Booker in the second quarter". "They're going to pressure us".

The Pacers know how hard it will be to win two games in a row in Cleveland. "This is a different season, a good opportunity for him to show where he's at again.". "I'm just glad we got this first win". Either way, they're in a hole to a tough team - not the start to their postseason they were hoping for. Middleton had 31 points, eight rebounds and six assists.
