Manchester City clinch Premier League title

West Brom, meanwhile, have gone 10 games without a win now and another defeat at Old Trafford could see them relegated this weekend, depending on results elsewhere.

The men of Jose Mourinho fell, at home no less, to the side in absolute dead last place; just eight days after beating top of the table Manchester City at their place.

With 28 wins, Guardiola's side needs just three more in four games to break the wins record set by Chelsea last season.

Guardiola failed to win a trophy during his first season in English football but has now added the Premier League to the EFL Cup crown collected against Arsenal in February.

Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba received a yellow card for a Diego Maradona-esque hand ball during the first-half of United's Premier League visit of West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

Jose Mourinho has called out Manchester United's multi-million dollar midfield asset, Paul Pogba to up his game.

"As much as this has been a record breaking season, this one's for you, the fans, this is why we do it!" said the skipper. Everyone was one more touch, one more trick, one more flick, one more turn'.

Mourinho attempted to end the stalemate - and the tedium - by introducing Anthony Martial with half an hour remaining and his introduction undoubtedly lifted the quiet Old Trafford atmosphere.

Of course, the City players themselves were ecstatic, including full back Kyle Walker, who joined from Spurs last summer.

"I trust in my work, that is for sure, I have no reason not to trust".

"You do not win titles with inconsistency, you win with quality".

"These players deserve all my respect because they have been unbelievable all season".

"I knew that sooner or later they would be (champions) and if I was in their position I would be very upset if someone said they won the title because Manchester United lost against West Brom".

Juan Mata echoed comments from Mourinho, accepting United were far below the required standard in defeat to West Brom. "The amount of goals, chances and points, to do that in the Premier League, with the contenders we have, is because the players are so good". "If I expect him to score goals every match? No". But I saw lots of people in the moon because we won against Manchester City like winning against Manchester City was the most important thing of the season.

"This is not a dynasty, it is one title we've won".
