Manchester City win Premier League title

Juan Mata has challenged Manchester United to follow up their 3-2 win over Manchester City with a victory over West Brom on Sunday. However, United had chances as well.

West Brom became a team who was a constant thorn in the side of United all game long.

In the first half, Mata almost found his way towards an early goal. Also during the first half, Ander Herrera came into the box looking to register a shot on goal.

Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku is expected to play after overcoming a sickness bug. The referee blatantly missed a terrible challenge, and this would prove costly to Manchester United. They lost only two matches because they were the best team.

Manchester United have the edge over West Brom when it comes to head-to-head record, winning 56 of their 131 meetings in all competitions, while the Baggies have won 43 and there have been 32 draws. Manchester United have won 16 and drawn four of the other 20 games. "People said it was a big failure last week".

Lukaku would have had another opportunity at a one-on-one with Foster on 36 minutes had his heavy first touch not allowed the Albion stopper to race off his line before the Belgian could get a shot away. Surely, it looked as if Foster could not reach the ball.

West Brom, to their credit, also kept probing forward but they lacked the class required to really open United up at the back.

Chris Brunt's corner to the far post was headed back towards his own goal by Nemanja Matic under pressure from Dawson, with Rodriguez stealing in to head in from close range in the 73rd minute. Manchester United simply got unlucky. With only 3 wins before playing United, who would actually bet money on West Brom?

What's your prediction for Manchester United vs West Bromwich Albion?

David De Gea has been sensational between the sticks for the Red Devils throughout the season and his selection in the starting XI is a bit of a no-brainer. "Premier League Champions 17/18", City tweeted soon after the final whistle, when the fifth English top-flight title of its history was assured.

United's comeback at the Etihad from a 2-0 half-time deficit offered their supporters a rare fillip of flair and excitement after a hard season where their style of play has hardly endeared Jose Mourinho to the club's fanbase.
