Microtransactions are set to return to Star Wars Battlefront 2

For the first time in Star Wars Battlefront II, you will be able to play as Ewoks.

Nevertheless, EA has announced today that with the upcoming update there will be more than 50 new appearances, including new Endor-themed looks for Han Solo and Leia Organa. The limited-time mode that we mentioned before is Ewok Hunt, and it involves clearing out a platoon of Stormtroopers or holding out against an extremely punishing Ewok assault. It sounds like a lot of fun and nearly like a horror film for the hopeful survivors to have knee-high, furry Odd-Jobs running around with all of their bloodlust. The Ewoks win if they wipe out the Stormtroopers, while the troopers claim victory if they can hold out until an extraction team arrives to save them from the marauding, three-foot-tall floof-beasts. Thankfully, Crystals can now only be spent on cosmetic "Appearances" - they can no longer be used to get weapons or Star Cards.

But if you did enjoy the straightforward Battlefield-in-Star-Wars-cosplay feel of the first game, then Battlefront II - including new environments, game modes, heroes, and the all-important campaign which was criminally missing from the first - then there's plenty to enjoy in Battlefront II.

Crystals Return – and Some Special Appearances Our April update isnt just about Ewok Hunt. As many of you have suspected, all our focus was on the Progression Update, as we felt this was the most important improvement to the game that we needed to make. Every Stormtrooper that is killed spawns a new Ewok. What we saw was players being stunned for a total of 2.3 seconds, which usually resulted in defeat.

Going forward, DICE implied that they want to keep up a monthly cadence of smaller content releases, while also providing larger multiple-month Seasons that will pair with big events like Star Wars film releases an anniversaries in the Star Wars universe.
