Missing Indian family in US: Two found inside SUV

Searchers have found the bodies of a missing Valencia father and daughter in a flooded Northern California river, sheriff's officials announced Monday. A powerful storm dropped 2 to 5 inches of rain the day they disappeared.

The couple's 12-year-old Siddhant Thottapilly remains missing.

Sandeep was a Vice-President at Union Bank, while Soumya was a stay-at-home parent.

Autopsies to determined the victims' cause of death will be performed later this week. Toxicology tests check for alcohol or illicit substances in a corpse. Authorities say they believe the crash was intentional.

Soumya Thottapilly was found in an area previously covered with water from the storm-swollen river. A body was found in the ocean at the scene, but it has not been identified.

Dozens of searchers had been combing the river with Jet Skis, boats and kayaks, along with dive teams.

Search teams found the body of an adult woman on April 13, according to the statement.

"At approximately 4:00 PM water searchers located the body of a juvenile male submerged in the Eel River approximately 6 miles north of the reported crash site", it said.

"Search divers entered the water and were able to feel what they believed to be a person inside of the vehicle".

Recovery efforts continued for several hours. Sandeep Thottapilly, 41, and Saachi Thottapilly, 9, were found dead inside a vehicle encased in sediment in the Eel River, the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office said.

"This provided searchers the ability to conduct a visual inspection of the inside of the vehicle", said van Patten, adding: "Searchers subsequently recovered the bodies of Sandeep Thottapilly and Saachi Thottapilly from inside the vehicle". A body was pulled from the surf April 7 but has not been identified. The family was officially reported as missing to the San Jose Police Department on April 8.

Afile photo released by The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office shows a search underway along the Eel River in Northern California.

The Thottapilly family was driving a maroon Honda Pilot with California plate 7MMX138. They are coordinating with the police.

Sandeep Thottapilly's parents, Babu Subramanium Thottapilly and Rama, are preparing to leave for the USA, according to a report in the Hindustan Times. "Rest assured. We will spare no effort".
