NBA Playgrounds 2 Announced, Out This Summer

NBA Playgrounds 2 continues to feature the sport's biggest players front and center.

Saber Interactive has announced that the arcade-y action of the NBA Playgrounds franchise will return later this year on the PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch in NBA Playgrounds 2.

The team is putting an added focus on online play this year.

This sequel, which will release on all the same platforms as the original, is poised to improve on the formula established in the first game with a couple new features. While the game's reception was lukewarm, NBA Playgrounds sold very well. This includes the new Playgrounds Championship online mode and a worldwide online league featuring several divisions to climb. You'll always know exactly where you stack up against other Playgrounds 2 players online and see yourself progress as you acquire skills.

Sabre is also ensuring that dedicated servers and additional player options will be available for NBA Playgrounds 2.

Season Mode will give players the feeling of leading a team through the regular season and through to the NBA Playoffs and championship. The game will feature over 200 current and former National Basketball Association players, with some of the biggest names in the sport. There are big names such as LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook, Shaquille O'Neal, Magic Johnson, Dr. J., Giannis Antetokounmpo, Allen Iverson and Larry Bird.

No release date has been given as yet, but Saber Interactive says that NBA Playgrounds 2 will be released in 2018 for PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One, .
