October is a film where box office doesn't scare you: Varun Dhawan

October is far from Varun Dhawan's most successful film but this latest box office update will surely bring a sigh of relief to him. Though the collections were decent for the movie but considering it as a Varun Dhawan film everyone expected more. Since the film has received rave reviews from the audience, we are expecting a substantial growth over the weekend. Everyone who got the opportunity to watch this attractive story of the lives of two young souls couldn't stop praising it.

Helmed by Shoojit Sircar, the movie marked the Bollywood debut of actress Banita Sandhu. "The tone and tenor of the onscreen duet carries October so adrift from standard Bollywood acting methods that it transports the audience to a world rarely seen in contemporary Hindi cinema".

October witnessed a very slow start in the morning, yesterday.

But, the magic has been unveiled one the second day and the movie has shown an excellent jump. On the whole, it got successful in entertaining the people. That seems to be even more true for October, which releases today. Still, it became the fifth best opener of the year and 9th best of Varun's career. Although Varun proved himself with his performance in Badlapur, which is a slightly different kind of film as compared to the films he has done before, it definitely falls under the commercial banner. However, the screen count actually shows that the filmmakers have targetted a restricted release as the screen count in India is just 1683 and 625 overseas.

Varun's film clashed with Prabhudeva's silent film Mercury and Hollywood film Rampage at the theatres.
