Tigers postpone Saturday game against Yankees

For the fourth time this season, a Detroit Tigers game has been postponed because of inclement weather.

What is important to remember here is that there are eight future dates in this 2018 baseball season in which both the Tigers and Yankees have scheduled days off. If you had a ticket to Saturday's game, you can use it for the second game of the split doubleheader Sunday.

The mixture of cold, ice, hail and snow ripping through MI postponed baseball games for the Lansing Lugnuts and the Detroit Tigers on Saturday.

The games will be made up as a day-night doubleheader on June 4, a scheduled off day for both teams. The teams are still set to square off Sunday night as previously scheduled, with first pitch slated for 7:10 p.m. ET. A total of 10 games this weekend (including six on Sunday) have been postponed due to the weather.

The Tigers next host the Orioles for a three-game series starting Tuesday.

The Tigers will stay in rotation through Sunday's split doubleheader. Luis Severino was expected to toe the rubber for the Yankees against Francisco Liriano and the Tigers this afternoon.

It's fair to suggest that the seemingly never-ending cold-weather playing situations for the Tigers to start the season has led to their offensive woes early on, to some degree (pun intended). The Yankees won 8-6 behind two Aaron Hicks homers in Friday's game.
