5 reasons the Packers should sign Dez Bryant

Still, despite remaining open to the idea of considering Bryant, the Giants have showed very little interest to date.

If Bryant was to be signed by a team, now would be the precise time for it to happen.

Witten believes Bryant is looking for the best chance to win and a quarterback who can drop accurate fade throws, something every Packer fan knows Aaron Rodgers is more than capable of doing. Bryant's ex-teammate Jason Witten recently opined that Bryant would end up with the Packers.

"You partner him up with Jimmy Graham and Aaron Rodgers, I think that offense could put up a lot of points and losing Jordy Nelson in the offseason, when they cut him, I think it's a win-win for the Packers". Even more are anxious that the Packers don't have enough weapons for Aaron Rodgers to use. Green Bay already has a solid receiving corps even with the recent departure of Nelson who signed with the Oakland Raiders after his release.

If the Packers were to sign Bryant, they'd preferably want to get it done prior to OTAs. ESPN Cowboys reporter Todd Archer wrote shortly after Bryant was released that the move was the result of both Bryant's declining production on the field and what he's like off it.

Other teams that were mentioned as potential landing spots throughout the free agency process thus far for Bryant were the Baltimore Ravens and New Orleans Saints.

It also could be telling that Bryant remains unsigned more than a month after he was released. That's a vertical passing attack.

"I still think Dez can still high-point the football as good as any other wide receiver in the National Football League", Witten said.

Bryant, who turns 30 on November 4, has not posted a 1,000-yard season since 2014.

Bryant, who will be 30 in November, caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns in 2017.
