Airtel's Apple Watch cellular service compromises national security: Jio to DoT

Now, the reports are coming that Reliance Jio is all set for the launch and they launched unveiled Jio Postpaid and its first real step towards the smaller segment of India's telecom market. Airtel has now hit back at Jio saying that the new entrant's aim is to create a monopoly over everything that they do.

Reliance Jio has recently launched the postpaid plan with Rs 199 with all free services, such as free voice calls, free SMS, free roaming, and free global roaming services. Airtel's all-new Rs 149 prepaid plan now directly counters Reliance Jio's Rs 149 plan.

Jio Postpaid rates "Once Again challenge the business the present state of affairs by offering the most minimal tariffs in India and overseas to the post-paid clients, who wind up paying excessively higher when contrasted with the prepaid section", the organization said in an announcement Thursday.

Yes! Now you all can make ISD calls with an easy "one-click" activation of worldwide roaming for all the users who will get 199 plan. "However, even in a scenario where we assume 10-15 percent of postpaid revenues are from worldwide calls, and global tariffs get cut by 50 percent, the impact on overall revenue of incumbents is likely to be less than 2 percent", Goldman Sachs said.

The Jio's lowest monthly post-paid plan was Rs 309 at present, while from 15 May it will be Rs 199. It also comes with cheap worldwide calls ranging from 50 paise to Rs 6 per minute. We noted that a Bharti Airtel, India's largest mobile operator, were in talks with Apple for a broader strategic tie-up. "Remain cautious on the sector", the brokerage said.

Heavy losses in Idea Cellular (down 9.51 per cent), GTL (down 6.88 per cent), Bharti Airtel (down 5.59 per cent) and GTL Infrastructure (down 4.28 per cent) were keeping the telecom index in deep red during Friday's trade.
