Another round of heavy rain and strong storms possible overnight

"Moisture. This is going to be known for a rain-maker and it's going to throw the moisture our way over the coming days". Most across southern Colorado stay dry Wednesday and Thursday; however, the eastern plains could be battling a few severe storms on both of those days.

By Friday and Saturday, mostly sunny skies return as the warm, dry pattern really noses into the Ozarks. I don't think that the entire day will be filled with soaking rain, but during the heat of the day, showers and storms will be likely. High temps have now been above 80 for 12 consecutive days.

Thursday remains warm ahead of a cold front with high temperatures back to the 70s to low 80s.

With more clouds and rain chances, temperatures will still be above normal but cooler than yesterday (the streak of record highs ends!).

WEEKEND: A few scattered showers and thunderstorms possible.

Individual thunderstorms will continue to move east as the wide band of showers/thunderstorms slowly sags south this morning. The main threat with these storms will be locally heavy downpours and small hail.

Another round of showers and storms will sweep through overnight with the risk for heavy rain and gusty wind once again. Afternoon showers and storms. Highs in the upper 80s and low 90s.

Also, the chance for this low to become a depression or storm has now been lowered from medium to low, according to the latest from the National Hurricane Center. Low clouds Monday morning, burning off to partly sunny skies.
