Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone expects great Europa League final against Marseille

Diego Simeone has rejected talk of the UEFA Europa League final being an opportunity for Atletico Madrid to banish the ghosts of UEFA Champions League heartache suffered at the hands of Real Madrid. They have two ways to qualify for next season's Champions League - by winning this tournament or by finishing third in France, where they are now fourth and a point behind.

Marseille are an exciting and capable team, but they face a challenge on Wednesday to beat an Atleti side who could arguably hold their own against anyone else in Europe.

The 31-year-old playmaker is about to star within the closing towards Atletico Madrid in Lyon on Wednesday night time after leaving the Hammers in 2017.

Marseille vs Atlético Madrid is available in most nations through the rights holders' online platform, if they have one.

Marseille, meanwhile, are aiming for Euro glory on the 25th anniversary of their Champions League triumph.

The Spanish side has been in spectacular form this season and can boast of a good record against French clubs, having played 12 matches against Ligue 1 teams winning 6, drawing 5 and losing just one.

Even though their coach will not be encouraging them from the sidelines, the players are ready.

Marseille's fate of playing in next season's Champions League now rest on them lifting the title in Lyon.

"He will always ask for the best of me and make me do my best, and I'll always be there to help him and help win the games".

The Spanish outfit have appeared in two UEFA Europa League finals and won both of them, in 2010 and 2012.

He was seen as a minor health doubt for Wednesday's sport after sitting out Marseille's 3-Three draw at Guingamp final week, however he skilled on the eve of the ultimate.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone will be unable to orchestrate proceedings from the dugout as he serves a suspension following his sending-off in the semi-final first leg against Arsenal.

The former Argentina global adds: "We are playing another final where there is a lot of emotion and excitement but, above all, humility".

"They have the experience but we've studied our opponents and we'll know how to take them on", he added.

Where can I watch the Europa League final? "It will be a lovely game, a handsome final".

"Against Arsenal the team moved well, and we are a team who have prepared a lot. We're going to need to seize control of the match".
