Everton show Allardyce the door as favourite emerges for job

He believes Allardyce did a very good job in ensuring a top ten finish for Everton after such a horror start to their season.

Rooney may consider reversing his decision to move to the United States if the new manager at Goodison Park wants to make him a key part of his Toffees revolution.

"He's been offered to several clubs, one of which is West Ham".

The new manager will be selected by Everton's new director of football Marcel Brands and new chief executive Denise Barrett-Baxendale. "We wish Sam well for the future".

Allardyce was heavily criticised by Everton fans for the team's style of play under him, but he feels the dissenting voices drowned out those who supported him.

Allardyce last month dismissed a survey sent to supporters asking them to grade his performance out of 10 as a mistake on the part of the club's marketing director, who he said does not "understand" how football works. I think they've made a mistake but I am not their owner.

Most, if not all, of the Premier League's top six were eyeing Lookman before he swapped Charlton Athletic for Everton in January a year ago.

Koeman was sacked with the club in 18th place, although by the time Allardyce took charge caretaker manager David Unsworth had steadied the ship and they were 13th.

Everton had previously targeted Silva at the end of 2017 upon sacking Ronald Koeman, but Watford were determined to keep hold of their then-manager having just appointed him several months previously.

He was involved in seven goals during his last five matches with Leipzig, more than any Everton player could muster in 25 matches under Allardyce.

"He's met David Sullivan who was impressed with the converation they had when I checked with my contacts an offer hadn't been made, but Sullivan is being pressured to make a quick decision because of the other vacancies available".

Watford filed a complaint to the Premier League about Everton's conduct in approaching Silva, who eventually left Watford in January.
