LeBron James isn't the only one involved in eight consecutive NBA Finals

Cleveland looked like a team that couldn't guard anyone in the regular season, and to its credit has greatly improved on that end of the court during this postseason. "We've won championships and they've won championships, so they understand what it takes and they knew what it took".

Houston had overcome Golden State's Mario Star-like third period earlier in the series during Game 4. He has averaged 34 points, 9.2 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game in the playoffs.

The Cavs didn't exactly miss Love in his absence against Boston. According to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, Kerr told reporters that the Rockets would have fallen in five games if Iguodala were healthy. In both games, they were let off the hook to a degree by the Rockets struggles on offense, which cast a much larger shadow. "Just reminds me a lot of guys I played with back in the day when you see Horace Grant, Robert Horry, Derek Fisher, just something about winning a championship with those guys that you will never forget, and it's a bond that can't be broken". "Like it's-[James" teammates are] National Basketball Association players, and yeah they're new and what-not and "Bron is wonderful, [and] he played an unbelievable playoff run to date and has willed his team to his eighth straight Finals and all that, which is unbelievable to think about the consistency and the longevity and just the level of greatness that he's shown in the Eastern Conference".

In the West, Houston ended up living by the three, and dying by the three. Of course, the Warriors' defense, which stepped up its intensity in the second half of Game 7, had something to do with all those misses.

"With that being said, Houston, the majority of the (conference finals) series, they did a very good job defensively following game plan discipline".

The King, though, isn't the only one who has a connection to the past eight NBA Finals.

She's undefeated. When Chris Paul went down with a hamstring injury with less than a minute left in game five, the Rockets chances at a title went with him. LeBron's detractors often ding the four-time MVP for his 3-5 career record in the NBA Finals, but looking at the pre-series odds provides some useful context. The Warriors were around -300 over the Cavaliers in last year's Finals.

Jones played in the NBA Finals with LeBron James from 2011 to 2017, and White is on this year's Cavs team with James.

Said Van Gundy, who coached 12 seasons in the NBA and will be calling his 12th NBA Finals as an analyst: "This is the biggest difference that I remember between two teams heading into the Finals in my time in the NBA".

The teams have changed mightily over the last four seasons. Based on that, we would expect the Warriors to beat the Cavaliers 86 percent of the time at home and 66 percent of the time on the road. "They have (James), the best player in the world".

This marks the fourth straight year the Warriors have been significant favorites over the Cavs in the Finals.
