Meghan Markle's father says he won't attend royal wedding after selling photos

He also said he had a heart attack several days ago.

And now it seems Meghan's love of affection has spread to staff at Kensington Palace, with the soon-to-be royal often seen embracing the help - in a breach of protocol, reports Hello Magazine.

A spokesperson for the palace declined to comment on the matter to HuffPost on Monday, though they later issued a statement after much speculation.

Thomas Markle spent a career in Hollywood, but nothing prepared him for this. He told TMZ he didn't primarily do it for the money; the Mail on Sunday reported that the photos were sold to outlets worldwide and netted $135,000. "They photograph you as unflattering ways as they can".

There are now doubts about whether Thomas Markle plans to attend Saturday's royal wedding between his daughter and Prince Harry.

She credits her dad for inspiring her interest in acting and for supporting her when she was auditioning for roles. When asked if her father had been paid, she said didn't think so but wasn't sure. The photos show Thomas getting measured for a suit and sitting inside an internet cafe looking at photos of his daughter and Harry.

"This is a deeply personal moment for Ms Markle in the days before her wedding", a statement said.

Markle, accompanied by her mother, Doria Ragland, will be staying at Cliveden House Hotel, roughly 36 miles from where Prince Harry will be. Originally, he was supposed to walk Prince Harry's bride down the aisle.

Kensington Palace had been at pains to project a sense of serenity around preparations for the big day, regularly announcing minor planning details - from the type of carriage the couple will ride to who will bake their wedding cake.

Markle Sr. reportedly said he posed for the paparazzi photos published last week in order to recast the disheveled image he says the media has created for him over the past year.

"In all of them Mr Markle appears to be unaware they are being taken", The Daily Mail writes.

Even the usually indefatigable British tabloids, not to mention their American counterparts, have failed to reach Markle to get him on the record about why he might miss a family wedding he himself has labeled "historic".

TMZ quoted Mr Markle, who lives in Mexico, as saying he meant no harm to Meghan or Harry by taking part in an arranged photo-shoot with a paparazzi agency.

Markle, 73, was due to walk his daughter down the aisle in front of 600 guests including all the senior British royals and a smattering of celebrities.

"I feel that the media have unfairly preyed on him and he has really been admirable about laying low and not speaking out on certain things", Markle told ITV. "They will have their first engagement as a married couple in the week after the wedding". Maybe her mother, who has been far more discrete than her ex-husband's family in the run-up to the wedding.

To add to the confusion, Mr Markle's daughter, Meghan's estranged half-sister Samantha, yesterday claimed that she was "the culprit" behind the humiliating photograph debacle.
