Mohamed Salah was determined to succeed in the Premier League

With the ongoing debate on which is the best Premier League side ever, particularly if you think of the achievements of Arsenal's "Invincibles" in 2003/04 and the Manchester United side of 1998/99.

Arsenal are yet to name Wenger's successor, but he would do well to look sharp in Toure's direction after the Ivorian expressed a desire to remain in the Premier League.

"We ended up losing a game I thought we possibly should have won but the bigger picture, clearly, was to make sure we got the job done".

David Silva has been ridiculously good for Manchester City all in the backdrop of his son being in hospital since December.

The goal sparked wild celebrations, with City boss Pep Guardiola joining in on the sidelines, leaping from the dugout and punching the air.

There was never much chance of that but City's thrilling season was capped by another piece of individual brilliance, with Gabriel Jesus producing a superb lobbed victor in the 94th minute to spark wild celebrations.

He steered City to third-place past year and on their title-winning campaign this time round became the first side in Premier League history to rack up 100 points.

The Egyptian forward joined the Reds from Serie A outfit, Roma last summer and he has scored 44 goals in all competitions in his first term at the club.

Their greatest test still awaits in the final against Real Madrid in Kiev later this month, but they can at least go there knowing their primary objective for the season has been achieved.

The 2018-19 Premier League season kicks off on August 11.

At the other end of the table, Swansea's seven-season stay in the Premier League came to an end as they were relegated to the Championship after a 2-1 defeat by Stoke.

There will also be another event on Friday, June 15, the first full day of the 2018 World Cup.

Whether City can improve next season remains to be seen, given they have only dropped 14 points from a possible 114.

"Now is the time to enjoy what we've done this season", said Guardiola as he spoke to crowds at the end of City's bus tour.

"That is going to happen".

"But we have got a lot of experience from this season. That will not be important".
