Mueller's Team Is 'Meddling' in Midterm Elections

His tweet came amid reports that the Senate Intelligence Committee has concluded that President Barack Obama's administration was too slow to investigate suspected Russian interference in the 2016 USA election. Trump tweeted early Tuesday, hitting the team with the same accusation leveled at the Russians in the 2016 race.

In language that echoed that of his accusers and critics, President Donald Trump alleged on Twitter that special counsel Robert Mueller's investigative team was "MEDDLING" in the upcoming midterm elections and blamed Democrats for "Collusion".

Mueller, who was appointed a year ago after Trump fired FBI director James Comey, is leading the investigation into Russian election interference in 2016 and alleged collusion between Trump aides and Moscow.

'Why aren't the 13 Angry and heavily conflicted Democrats investigating the totally Crooked Campaign of totally Crooked Hillary Clinton. "Ask them if they enjoyed her after election celebration!" he wrote.

The president was referring to the 13 investigators - of the 17 total members on Mueller's team - who have registered as Democrats.

The former NY mayor, who received a less-than-flattering birthday greeting from his hometown Monday, added that Trump's frequent tweets bashing the probe are working to his benefit.

Trump seemed to be sarcastic in his final tweet, explaining he had to "start focusing" his energy on other work instead of the "Rigged Russia Witch Hunt".

"I am even more convinced that the Federal Bureau of Investigation did exactly what my fellow citizens would want them to do when they got the information they got", Gowdy said on Fox News.

Gowdy said Trump should be "heartened" by the fact all of the top agents in the Justice Department are his own appointees.

"We are more convinced, as we see it, that this is a rigged investigation", the attorney told CNN in a separate appearance. Prosecutors filed a similar motion last week in the case of George Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign aide who pleaded guilty past year to lying to investigators.

"If they don't show us these documents, well, we are just going to have to say no", Giuliani told Fox.

Ex-Trump aide Sam Nunberg candidly pointed out the cycle of conspiracy theories peddled by Trump and the few outlets he likes.
