Nintendo Details Mario Tennis Aces' Adventure Mode in New English Clip

Nintendo has announced that Switch owners will get the chance to try out Mario Tennis Aces a few weeks early with a pre-release demo. It'll begin at 6 p.m. PT (that's 9 p.m. ET) on June 1 and end at midnight PT on the third of the month.

If you didn't have a hankering to play tennis with your favorite Nintendo characters before, you will after checking out the latest Mario Tennis Aces trailer. You'll be able to choose from Mario, Bowser, Peach, and Yoshi, and can challenge the "online tournament" as many times as you like. There's also an option to play in single-player mode to take on AI-controlled opponents. "And this time the game adds the first story mode since the Mario Tennis game on Game Boy Advance, offering a new flavor of tennis gameplay, with a variety of missions and boss battles". As they advance through the tournament stages, they'll earn points based on their performance, with five additional characters available to unlock in the demo by gaining enough points. It should have been more than obvious before now, but there's going to be a ton of fun things to do in Mario Tennis Aces that go beyond typical tennis matches. These include a tennis match against Boo where two floating mirrors shoot the ball back at you, and a course where Mario needs to hit multiple Shy Guys littered across the court. The game will exclusively be available for the Nintendo Switch.

This is everything we want out of a Camelot Mario Tennis game.

Tennis meets RPG in the newest trailer for Mario Tennis Aces, and it looks surprisingly refreshing.
