Just announced at a press conference in Japan, Pokémon Quest features creatures from the series' Kanto region, but with a Minecraft-ish blocky appearance. The event unveiled Pokemon Let's Go for the console and is slated to be released in November. Earlier this month, we have heard that the new games will be set in the Kanto region, the same region of the original Pokemon Red and Blue and that they will feature connectivity with Pokemon Go.

It connects to Pokemon Go and there's also a brand new device called the PokeballPlus. Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee can both be connected to Pokemon GO via Bluetooth.

As shown in Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee's announcement trailer, the influence of Pokemon GO should be immediately apparent.

The games are spiritual successors to Pokemon Yellow, the Game Boy title from 1998, with a dash of Pokemon Go thrown in.

No word yet on when the game will arrive on mobile platforms (or which, for that matter), but the Switch version can be downloaded from the Switch eShop right now.

Over the past couple of weeks, rumours have been swirling about the first core Pokemon RPG for Switch. Assuming the rumors we've been hearing lately (and today) are correct, we may not even have to wait until E3 to see Pokemon Switch in action.

That certainly makes it sound like Oha Suta is gearing up to deliver the first real details on Pokemon for Nintendo Switch.

As for the whole "free-to-start" thing, players can expect to get a taste for the game without having to drop any of their hard-earned cash on the experience.
