Teacher shot dead after having sex with student

A suspended school teacher who had been accused of an inappropriate relationship with a student was reportedly shot to death in her mother's driveway on Mother's Day.

Aliquippa is about 22 miles (34.6 kilometers) northwest of Pittsburgh. "I counted six shots that I heard".

The death has stunned neighbors in the quiet neighborhood and police are hunting for clues to the identity of the killer.

Ms DelTondo was suspended last November from the Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School.

The suspension came after school officials received an anonymous email containing a February 2016 police report stating DelTondo had been found in a parked vehicle with a 17-year-old former student.

"It's shameful that this woman was painted with a police report that had been written that did not result in criminal charges", Lozier said.

Inside was DelTondo and the teen.

The report said she was busted with the teenager at 2am.

The incident report named the teen and it was confirmed that he was not registered at the charter school. Cops later found text messages and Snapchat messages which revealed the pair had a 'relationship'. But investigators believe DelTondo knew her assailant, and that the evidence will show her murder was "a crime of passion". However, she was reportedly suspended last fall following allegations from a former Aliquippa High School student's mother. The report had not been made public until it was sent anonymously to the school.

After receiving the email, her school announced that she was being suspended and "removed from the classroom pending an investigation".

The report said that at roughly 1:50am on 6 February, 2016, they investigated a vehicle parked near an old hospital in the town of Aliquippa.

The school issued the suspension after school officials received an anonymous email about a former police report filed involving DelTondo and an underage boy that was not a student at Pennsylvania Cyber. We have no additional information beyond what is being reported by local media. We express our sympathy to her family, friends, and co-workers.

"Nobody, including Ms. Deltondo, the Aliquippa Police Department, the juvenile male or his family, or any other person or agency had informed PA Cyber of this or any other incident".

Earlier a year ago, DelTondo was in the press over a dispute with a bridal shop over her wedding dress. The wedding was ultimately scrapped, KDKA reported.

DelTondo's fiancé reportedly called off the wedding several months after the 2016 incident.

The family, who had already put down a $4,600 non-refundable deposit, told the salon they would like to pay the balance and receive the dress so they could sell it, but said the designer never delivered the gown and refused to refund their deposit.

Today, family, neighbors and friends are struggling to come to terms with her sudden death. "I really don't... handsome lady, friendly, knew everybody, talked to everybody". I really don't, ' said Dan Casper, a neighbor, who described the 32-year-old as a 'beautiful lady, friendly, knew everybody, talked to everybody'.

Rachael DelTondo, 32, was returning from an ice cream shop Sunday night when she was struck by a hail of bullets on the driveway outside her family's Aliquippa home, KDKA reported.
