White House Open to Sanctioning European Companies That Do Business With Iran

Kerry - former President Barack Obama's chief negotiator in the talks with Iran - has recently sought to salvage the deal and undermine Trump's authority by meeting with Iran's foreign minister prior to the chief executive's withdrawal announcement.

The United States on Sunday threatened to impose sanctions on European companies that do business with Iran, as the remaining participants in the Iran nuclear accord stiffened their resolve to keep that agreement operational.

So far, China, France, Russia, Britain, the European Union and Iran remain in the accord, which placed controls on Iran's nuclear program and led to a relaxation of USA economic sanctions against Iran and companies doing business there. It was widely believed to have been a successful piece of worldwide diplomacy at the time, but Trump repeatedly referred to the deal as being the "worst ever" during his election rallies, pointing out that it made no mention of the Iranian ballistic program or the overall influence Iran exerted in the Middle East.

The implications of the US withdrawal are multi-faceted. "To the Iranian people I say: do not let anyone dismantle this deal, one of the greatest achievements of the global community. the culmination of 12 years of diplomacy".

Raddatz asked Bolton what parts of the agreement Iran was violating.

"Do we want to be a vassal that obeys and jumps to attention?" Le Maire said he would meet with German and British finance ministers at the end of the month to discuss these proposals.

"The leaders of the U.K., France, Germany issued a joint statement, emphasizing their, quote, 'continued commitment to the nuclear deal, '" Raddatz said.

Speaking on "Fox News Sunday", Pompeo said that the United States was not aiming at Europe when it withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal last week. "The inspectors say nothing", she said.

"The president has to make a decision, where America's interests lie; and it did not lie in continuing this deal".

"The holy system of the Islamic Republic will step up its missile capabilities day by day so that Israel, this occupying regime, will become sleepless and the nightmare will constantly haunt it that if it does anything foolish, we will raze Tel Aviv and Haifa to the ground".

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has already said that Israel won't exist in 25 years if it continues to destabilize the region.
