WOW Air announces route from St. Louis to India for $199

"We will be flying to more Indian cities", the CEO said.

Wow Air offers low-priced flights via its hub in Reykjavik and would provide the cheapest best option available to passengers traveling from India to North America's eastern seaboard.

In a promotion, Wow is selling a total of 4,200 one-way seats to India for just $199. The airline on Tuesday said that the fare would start at Rs 13,499.

Service to Delhi will be available from nine U.S. cities - Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), Boston Logan International Airport (BOS), Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD), Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT), Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW), San Francisco International Airport (SFO), Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and St. Louis Lambert International Airport (STL).

And for those travelers who want a relative deal but don't want to sacrifice comfort, WOW Air is also introducing a premium seating option, with more legroom, priority boarding, in-flight dining, and up to two checked bags.

The carrier already operates a route to Newark Liberty International Airport as well as Chicago, Pittsburgh, Toronto, Boston, Montreal, Washington D.C. and Californian destinations Los Angeles, San Francisco and Miami from London. Wow Air will have five direct flights a week between New Delhi and Keflavik airport in Iceland that will connect to several destinations in North America and Europe using Airbus A330neo aircraft, starting 7 December.

WOW Air, which will be flying A-330 Neo to India, now serves 39 destinations across Europe and including Chicago, Toronto, London and Paris. The low fares will come with a discernible sea-change in service quality and minus the luxury which comes as an essential part of any long-haul travel.
