Speaking with host Geoff Keighley, Howard also confirmed that the sci-fi epic Starfield, which was shown for the first time at Bethesda's E3 showcase, is in full production.

Fallout 76 looks as if hopes to lure in new players to franchise with this sort of new fresh take on the game.

Better still, as it's a cross-platform release, irrelevant of which source device you're using to play, all players will be present in the same world. Considering the terrain that we saw in the Elder Scrolls 6 trailer, being very mountainous with a castle visible, High Rock might be the best bet for where we go.

A post on the official Bethesda website said: "Pre-ordering Fallout 76 is the only way to get access to the B.E.T.A. Visit fallout.bethesda.net/buy-now to pre-order the game from your preferred participating retailer or digital platform".

This isn't the first time Bethesda has made a decision to launch a game on the mobile platform. The game takes place on a ruined Earth after an asteroid kills most of the population, leaving a wasteland that's much more akin to Mad Max: Fury Road than Fallout. It will also be playable in a single-player mode, like the previous games.

A new standalone sequel to Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus was announced, titled Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Creators of the 2006 "Game of the Year", The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, the 2008 "Game of the Year", Fallout 3, the 2011 "Game of the Year", The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and most recently, the 2015 "Game of the Year", the record-breaking Fallout 4. Bethesda's expansion beyond traditional consoles offers a potential wealth of hallmark IP's in forms we haven't seen before.

From the first person perspective, you will return home to find that it has been destroyed, leading you on an adventure through dungeons and unsafe terrain.

There is no release date yet, but, hopefully, we'll hear and see more this week at E3.
