Can Argentina qualify for the World Cup knockout stages?

If they win and Nigeria loses to Argentina, Iceland advances.

Gernot Rohr, on the other hand, made several changes to the side that meekly surrendered to the Croats a few days earlier.

Nigeria have a youthful side that includes the likes of Alex Iwobi, though their 2-0 loss against Croatia puts them in danger of not making it out of their group for the third time in their last four World Cup appearances.

Two stunning second-half goals from Ahmed Musa sunk Iceland, who faded badly after half-time and missed an 82nd minute penalty, which could have given them a lifeline, when Gylfi Sigurddsson blazed over the bar. They felt like the end of an era. If Argentina only manages a draw with Nigeria on June 26th, the country can't possibly advance. But Argentina, most importantly, now knows a win over Nigeria on Tuesday will very likely take it through to the knockout rounds, even after Thursday's heartbreak. But plenty of teams have advanced after taking one point from their opening two games. The victory moves Nigeria to second place, and the Eagles will earn a spot in the last-16 if, in their final match, they are able to equal Iceland's result against Croatia. Some people think that Croatia may rest key players for their final game given that qualification is assured.

Brazil, who were held by Switzerland and England, late 2-1 victor over Tunisia round up the top five in the ratings.

Croatia wins the group with a win or draw vs. Iceland, and they'll also win the group if Nigeria fails to win.

Gudmundsson was substituted midway through the second half of Iceland's surprise 1-1 draw with twice world champions Argentina on Saturday.

So the scenarios for Argentina are relatively simple.
