Command & Conquer makes its way to smartphones with Rivals

Command & Conquer: Rivals, a fresh and innovative player versus player (PVP) real-time strategy game (RTS) built from the ground up for mobile devices.

Command and Conquer: Rivals teased gameplay during the live stream and shows that it will be a top-down game with vehicles and armed forces that move across the map towards the other player's team. EA revealed the game during its EA Play event today in Los Angeles ahead of next week's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Every game becomes a best of three matchup between rivals. "Although we deeply respect the great work done by our talented team, ultimately it's about getting you the game you expect and deserve", read the statement from Victory Games.

The game features well-known units and characters from the Command & Conquer universe. Following the announcement, the free-to-play game was released into pre-alpha, and can be downloaded now. If you look at what EA did with Plants vs Zombies 2 and also what they announced for Battlefield V (no lootboxes or premium pass), one can hope that this game will be fun to play. Official news for the game is available on the game's Twitter @cncrivals. Players will mine tiberium and spawn as many units as possible to hold onto these zones by any means necessary. But wait, before we proceed, take that excitement down a notch. Will you be dumping Clash of Clans for Command & Conquer: Rivals? Let alone giving it E3 stage time.
