But La Liga chief Tebas has tried to reassure both Atletico and Real fans that their star players will not leave this summer.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for the 33-year-old as he continues to be linked with a move away from the Spanish club.

The last season was a somewhat successful one for the Portuguese forward, as he helped Real Madrid to a third consecutive Champions League title - a feat that seemed impossible previously.

After talking about his stint as a Real player in past tense, the five-time Ballon d'Or victor gave ambiguous answers when he was asked to clarify his post-match comments later in the day. The celebrated footballer had rejected a "heavily bonus-based" new contract earlier this year, according to Daily Mail.

Portugal midfielder Manuel Fernandes said Cristiano Ronaldo "doesn't look at all anxious about his future" as the Real Madrid superstar contemplates a possible exit from the Spanish giants this summer. "We all want Ronaldo to stay and Neymar has our doors wide open", Marcelo said.

Real Madrid became the first team to win three on the trot, and Ronaldo now has five Champions League medals to show for - four with the Los Blancos, and one with former club, Manchester United.

Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo wishes to stay in Europe if he carries out his threat of leaving the Spanish capital this summer - ruling out any potential move to Major League Soccer or the Chinese Super League at this stage of his career.
