E3 Trailer: ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ for Nintendo Switch

One of the brand new Nintendo games announced during Nintendo Direct instantly peaked the interest of Nintendo's loyal fanbase: Super Mario Party.

Instead of the usual onstage E3 production that most big gaming companies put together for the conference, Nintendo continued the trend of airing a Nintendo Direct after most of the big shows were already over. We went hands-on with a near-final build at a pre-E3 event and found that it has enough to make it a fully fledged sequel, not just a glorified DLC pack.

The Mario Party™ series is coming to the Nintendo Switch™ system with super-charged fun for everyone! Smash Ultimate will launch on Nintendo Switch December 7, 2018.

Ridley, Inklings, and Daisy were confirmed to be new characters coming to the game alongside every other character that has ever been in a Smash Bros. game before. No Metroid, no exciting new games wtf was this? It's been a bit since there was a console version of Mario Party. Its reveal confirms that Nintendo's insane multi-screen patent, which emerged in April, is indeed being employed for Nintendo Switch games.

Nintendo also today announced Super Mario Party for the Switch, arriving October 5.
