EA Teases Sea of Solitude with Beautiful Trailer During EA Play

Sea of Solitude, the narrative adventure game from Berlin-based Jo-Mei Studios, is now an EA Original, the publisher's indie branch focused on bringing small developers into the spotlight. It's unclear exactly how the game will present the themes of loneliness and the dangers of a negative mental state, but both Söderlund and Geppert state that the game conveys a powerful message in tandem with the storyline. Which is exactly what happened to protagonist Kay, a woman suffering from tumultuous inner turmoil. And she's not the only one-many poor souls more far gone than her have changed into various different stages of monster, from vaguely humanoid to massive kaiju. Her journey is nothing short of challenging since monsters lurk everywhere she goes.

In "Sea of Solitude", Kay becomes one of these monsters, and must find her way back to her normal self. They are not her enemies.

And while no platforms for Sea of Solitude were revealed at EA Play, it could be available on all consoles and PC. However, Kay's self-discovery will be realized once she explores all her pent-up emotions inside. Sea of Solitude will be the third game to be published as part of the program.

A creepy trailer for upcoming EA Original Sea of Solitude stole the show during EA's presentation today, propelling #SeaofSolitude to trend on Twitter with more than 23,000 mentions. "This at the core of the story of "SOS" [which is apparently the in-house nickname for the game]".
