FIFA World Cup Brazil not risking Neymar 3 hours ago

After drawing their first game, Brazil needed a victory to safeguard their passage through to the last-16 and Philippe Coutinho grabbed a crucial opener in the 91st minute to put his side ahead.

Even before his latest injury scare, there were doubts over Neymar's match fitness after a broken bone in his foot ended his club season with Paris Saint-Germain in February. He didn't speak to reporters after the game but soon took to Instagram to explain his emotions. I cried out of happiness, overcoming, grit and desire to win. Things have never been easy in my life, it would not be now, right!

Neymar paid tribute to his team-mates and insists Brazil remain on course for the latter stages of the competition, saying: "The dream - no, the objective - is still alive. Congratulations on the match".

Brazil take on Serbia on June 27, in what is their final Group E game.

Neymar scored his first goal of the tournament by tapping in a squared pass from Douglas Costa with one of the final kicks of the game, meaning the 26-year-old left the pitch in a much better mood than he was on it.

"He is like a little brother to me and I try to look out for him, but today I feel sad because he insulted me when I returned a ball to Costa Rica", Silva told the Brazilian press.
