IHOP reveals what IHOB will stand for

Last week, IHOP sent the internet into a frenzy when they announced that they would be changing their name to IHOb.

Monday morning, they made it official with an announcement via social media announcing the b stands for burgers.

There's the Classic (with or without bacon), Jalapeno Kick, Cowboy with barbecue, Mushroom and Swiss and Mega-Monster.

"The goal is to get people to think about us for lunch and dinner", Haley conceded.

If you guessed that the "b" stood for burgers, you would have been correct. It's "IHOb" International House of Burgers. "B-hold!" the company announced in a tweet on Monday, June 11, sharing a video to make the big reveal.

Burgers was a popular one.

"We are definitely going to be IHOP", Darren Rebelez, president of IHOP, told CNNMoney. He said that some fans were upset about the idea of IHOP even considering tinkering with the name.

Could it be marketing genius or one of the most talked about branding blunders brandished by a breakfast joint? A release from the company said the letter "p" in IHOP was flipped "for the time being". So now there are a million and 1 restaurants which serve burgers near you.

According to CNN, the change is only temporary.
