Into The Spider-Verse Trailer

Into The Spider-Verse Trailer

A brand new trailer has been released for the new, full-length, animated movie, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

As Miles Morales himself says in the new Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse trailer, "In your universe, there's only one Spider-Man". In the Ultimate Spider-Man comics from which the character stems, Peter Parker is dead and Morales picks up his mantle. Seriously, think about it: Lily Tomlin voicing Aunt May ... in a movie centered on Miles Morales... where Peter tells Miles, "Don't do it like me, do it like you"?

One of the coolest, unexpected cameos in the trailer is the big-screen debut of Hailee Steinfeld's Spider-Gwen.

Directed by Bob Persichetti, Peter Ramsey, and Rodney Rothman, and also featuring Mahershala Ali as Miles's uncle Aaron; Brian Tyree Henry as Miles's father, Jefferson; Luna Lauren Velez as Miles's mother, Rio; and Lily Tomlin as Peter Parker's beloved Aunt May, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse swings into theaters on December 14.

The look of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse also differs from animation styles that we have seen so far. Watch the trailer below.

What makes you different is what makes you Spider-Man.

Previously, Shameik Moore was announced to star as Miles Morales, with Mahershala Ali as Miles' uncle Aaron and Brian Tyree Henry as his father Jefferson. Marvel switched things up when they turned Falcon into Captain America, had Jane Foster become Thor, and created a half Black, half Latino Spider-Man. Jake Johnson will voice Miles' reluctant mentor, Peter Parker, and Liev Schreiber will voice Kingpin. The producers are Avi Arad, Amy Pascal, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Christina Steinberg.

It's not really explained why in the film, but my guess is because there is some big danger that threatens both their universes and they will need to team up for it.
