Although Kushner and Trump are not paid a salary for their adviser roles at the White House, ethics experts have criticized the couple's large income flow from their investments and family-related businesses as something that could easily create conflicts of interest.

Jared Kushner's filings reveal a sprawling real estate empire, with property in states including New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Illinois, Ohio and CT generating millions in rent.

Ivanka Trump, the president's daughter and senior adviser, reported making more than US$12 million a year ago from companies where she held a position, according to her financial disclosure form. The Post estimated Kushner's assets at 179 million dollars to 735 million dollars previous year, compared to between 55.3 million dollars and 75.6 million dollars for Trump, noting that the Office of Government Ethics uses broad ranges for assets and liabilities.

The form shows Ivanka Trump also collected almost US$290,000 in advance payments for a 2017 book she wrote titled Women Who Work. Trump will now receive guaranteed fixed yearly payments instead of payments determined by profits from T International Realty LLC, TTT Consulting LLC, and TTTT Venture LLC - which are LLCs tied to some of the Trump Organization's international developments.

The news sources didn't list all the sources of income for the power couple, but just cited a few examples from financial disclosure forms obtained by the newspaper.

Ivanka Trump also reported over $2 million from severance from the Trump Corp.in 2017.

The financial disclosure forms showed that trusts benefiting Kushner, Trump or their children made eight purchases of at least $9.8 million in real estate, including properties in New Jersey and New York City. His line credit at IDB Bank increased from a max of $5 million to $25 million.

Peter Mirijanian, a spokesman for the couple's ethics lawyer, Abbe Lowell, said Ms Trump and Mr Kushner had abided by government ethics rules. The latest disclosure shows it was worth at least $25 million at the end of past year, up from a minimum value of $5 million in his previous disclosure.
