Jake Ball drafted in for Australia ODIs following Chris Woakes injury

As well as Sunday's one-off one-day worldwide against Scotland, both all-rounders are expected to miss the early stages of the five-match series with Australia.

England seamer Chris Woakes has joined Ben Stokes on the injury list for next weekend's one-day global against Scotland. Furthermore, the 29-year Woakes is also expected to miss the major part of the ODI series against Australia. Ben Stokes became the first casualty when he was ruled out of the Scotland ODI owing to a hamstring injury.

Chris Woakes was ruled out of Scotland ODI due to sore quadriceps.

Several members of England's Test squad, including some dual-format players, will be in action for their counties this week in the Royal London Cup, as they switch their attention from red-ball to white.

Ball is back after playing the last of his 17 ODIs to date at Perth in January in the 4-1 series victory over Australia.

Stokes sustained the injury while fielding during a practice session ahead if the ongoing second Test against Pakistan at Headingley.

England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler says his stint in this year's Indian Premier League (IPL) helped his return to the Test arena by forcing him to concentrate on making runs rather than losing his wicket.

The lone ODI against Scotland will be held on June 10 in Edinburgh, while the ODI series against Australia begins three days later at The Oval.
