LeBron James: Facing Golden State Warriors is like playing New England Patriots

LeBron James: Facing Golden State Warriors is like playing New England Patriots

If you were rooting for an NBA Finals upset, or you're a Cavaliers or LeBron James fan, Wednesday's Game 3 result took the wind out of your sails. Klay Thompson scored just 10 points on 11 shots, and Draymond Green was a minus-two in 40 minutes. Agreeing to such terms allowed the team to retain forward Andre Iguodala and backup point guard Shaun Livingston. Is it we have to have our minds into it a little bit more? KD should now just go back to his "Slim Reaper" nickname, as he is just killing the hopes and dreams of anyone thinking they can beat the Warriors... "Is it if there is a ball on the ground we can't reach for it but you've got to dive for it?" And once again, Smith stayed with Curry too. The reality: The Cavs' season could end Friday night and jump-start a transformative summer featuring LeBron's free agency as the NBA's top offseason storyline.

James, still focused on the opponent in front of him, lauded the Warriors.

Bottom line: James needs better, smarter teammates.

"I'm living in the moment now", James said after practice Thursday.

It has been a hectic year in Cleveland, and after tons of shakeup to the roster during last offseason, the Cavaliers flipped things around even more during the regular season with a series of moves at the trade deadline.

"It's definitely a tough loss", James said.

"I knew that my talent level here in Cleveland couldn't succeed getting past a Boston, getting past the San Antonios of the league or whatever the case may be", he said.

You really get the feeling that the Cavaliers missed out on a chance to make this competitive series after they blew Game 1 so I'm not surprised that they're now 48 minutes from a series sweep.

Against a team like the Warriors, James understands that making stupid mistakes simply can't happen.

"So now everyone is trying to figure that out", he said. "When you're able to force a miscue, you have to capitalize". That's what GMs and presidents and certain players, it's not every player. "Two guys that I think are a head above everybody else that's ever played the game".

This series has been a painful reminder to James that the great teams have more than one king.
