Respawn announces Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order for Xbox One and PC

The game will take place during the era between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, a time when the remaining Jedi in the galaxy are being hunted down by the Empire. While Respawn Entertainment didn't have a trailer or anything ready, co-founder Vince Zampella had a juicy little tidbit about the long-awaited game. The concept does sound pretty good though. Zampella did reveal that the game is scheduled for release in Holiday 2019. No other details were released during the EA Play conference regarding this title. Now we know and it's called Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order. According to the website, the story turns around a Padawan (a trainee Jedi, and nearly certainly the player character) who survives Order 66 (the aforementioned liquidation of the Jedi).

Today at California's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), Electronic Arts announced a new Star Wars game from Respawn, the creators of Titanfall and Titanfall 2.

Since this is an area that hasn't been extensively explored in the new Star Wars canon, this has the potential to be a really exciting game.

"We promise to pay respect to the Star Wars legacy at all times", game director Stig Asmussen previously said. Even if it's simply a small teaser, we'll likely see something that fans can latch onto and speculate about until more details are finally revealed. The publisher also stated that they have a "few surprises" so this Respawn game could, if anything, fall under that banner.

Something to look forward to: Respawn is one of several studios with Star Wars games in the works.
