"I hope he stays".

The draft is 10 days before free agency and trades can be made, but what the Cavs do in the draft could be a clue about what they plan to do with Love.

With the Cavaliers' failure to reclaim the title against the Golden State Warriors, rumors continue to heat up that James will be leaving his hometown for the second time and chase for another National Basketball Association championship title somewhere else.

Slate's Craig Fehrman put it simply: "The NBA has been bad for two years, and it's Kevin Durant's fault".

And should James leave his home region again this summer in free agency — a prospect that seems more likely than not as July 1 nears — they will go down as the team that shoved him toward the exits.

"Anything is possible. People have been saying that for the past four years", Love said.

We know this much about the NBA: It isn't going away on the issue of legal sports betting in the U.S. until it gets its way on how it will be regulated. But I like to be here. It always does. It's also good to be wanted.

The Warriors 108-85 domination of the Cleveland Cavaliers fashioned out via sweep of the best-of-seven championship series, the first since 2007 when the San Antonio Spurs last did the trick.

There will be plenty of teams looking to add James to their roster beginning next season.

But there is history with the Cavaliers, who won the 2016 championship with James leading the way.

"I pretty much played the last three games with a broken hand", James said wearing a soft cast on his right hand.

The possibility remains that Cleveland could retool and make another run, but doing so would require some serious creativity. I bet they would look for a first-round pick in that trade.

Wade, who won two National Basketball Association titles alongside James with the Miami Heat, pointed out how no matter which team he joins, they will likely always make the Finals and that it's a "lifestyle thing" at this point.

The naysayers can complain about Durant's move from Oklahoma City to Golden State two years ago tipping competitive balance in the league, but the Warriors' ascendance to the status of a dynasty was far from assured.

A video of him exchanging elaborate handshakes with his sons immediately after Game 4 had some fans crying foul, as did the replay of his two-handed, off-the-backboard dunk in Game 3 that he finished with such force.

So is this end in Cleveland? They were a teenage boy, pre-teen, a little girl that wasn't around. "So sitting down and considering everything, my family is a huge part of whatever I'll decide to do in my career, and it will continue to be that".

Durant then used that context, of the conditions under which certain players have displayed that greatness, to offer arguably his most eyebrow-raising observation: "I feel like it's easy to be the best player when you don't have good players around you".
