The Red Arrows wish England luck ahead of World Cup

England will adopt an aggressive approach to their World Cup fixtures and tackle the tournament "head on" as Gareth Southgate's youthful squad hopes to make its mark in Russian Federation, captain Harry Kane has said.

England was eliminated from three World Cup tournaments in penalty shootout.

Tottenham Hotspur kicks off the season this year with the International Champions Cup, which will see the team spend 10 days in the U.S., playing against Roma in San Diego, Barcelona in Los Angeles and AC Milan in Minneapolis.

England plays in Group G alongside Tunisia, Belgium and Panama and they are set to open their participation at the tournament against Tunisia on June 18.

"I want to score in tournament football, it's something I want to change", he says.

Kane, who says his mum cried when he was handed the captaincy by Southgate, does not expect a repeat of the woeful Euro 2016 campaign which saw them beaten by minnows Iceland in the last 16 and cost then manager Roy Hodgson his job.

Here we give you every necessary detail about the games, each of which will be broadcast live on talkSPORT.

"We know we are not the finished article, in fact we're a long way from, but I think people see signs of progress and enjoy watching us and the manner in which we try to play".

"Everybody wants the end result, and everyone wants to go and win".

Gareth Southgate is not anxious about club rivalries coming to the fore when England set off for the World Cup next week.

"I think everyone knows how tight-knit a group we are".

"The Under-17's World Cup win, in particular, came at a moment where the profile of our young players was really high". We are just trying to improve every day we work together.

Asked to sum up his own feelings about coaching his country on the biggest stage of all, he added: "I'm a very proud Englishman and I've said before that to play for my country was my only goal as a kid".
