Wonder Woman 1984 First Look: Steve Trevor Is Alive?!

"Wonder Woman's loyal pal Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), who seemed to have sacrificed his life in the World War I setting of the first film, is back, judging by Jenkins" caption.

"The greatest thing about making this movie was the fact that you're really building to the Wonder Woman that we all love, but not until the end of the movie", Jenkins said.

"Wonder Woman 1984" is the official title of the sequel, and Pine will be back as Steve Trevor.

This is all doubly surprising given that the Wonder Woman sequel's set in the mid-1980s. An image released by Warner Bros. with Pine as Trevor is above. Last month, Warner Bros. purchased numerous website domain names for the sequel, including wonderwoman1984.com, wonderwomanlives.com and wonderwomanreturns.com, igniting fevered speculation about the title.

The director has also confirmed Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids) will be playing Wonder Woman's nemesis Cheetah in the sequel.

Charles Roven, Deborah Snyder, Zack Snyder, Patty Jenkins, Stephen Jones and Gal Gadot are producing the film.

Director Patty Jenkins also tweeted the photo on Wednesday with the caption, "Welcome to WONDER WOMAN 1984, Steve Trevor!"

Set to open in theaters November 1, 2019, "Wonder Woman 1984" is based on the character created by William Moulton Marston, appearing in comic books published by DC Entertainment.
