England captain Harry Kane said a "band of brothers" spirit is driving Gareth Southgate's side towards World Cup glory as they prepare to face Sweden in the quarter-final on Saturday.

Fans are also hoping he will be able to repeat his success in England's World Cup match against Sweden to secure a place in the semi-finals.

He said: "I've watched a lot of Croatia and it's a team that's talented but should we be scared of them?"

"But look, we said we wanted to write our own history". In any case we feel good, safe and confident.

Sweden against all odds are in the quarter-finals of a World Cup filled with upsets, and Abiodun feels England will need to do extra to avoid being added to the list of casualties at the finals in Russian Federation.

England are through to the last four of the World Cup for the first time since 1990, when they lost to Germany on penalties after a 1-1 draw in Turin. "Regarding set-plays, the deliveries have been brilliant at this World Cup, the best I've worked with definitely, with [Kieran] Trippier and [Ashley] Young always hitting the point we've been working on, the target area as they call it".

'But when he played football at school people probably didn't imagine that he'd one day play for England and that the girl in the photos would be his future wife'. We had the sense before the game that we don't want to go home yet.

"So to be here and be part of it, to lead this team out makes me so proud".

And the Leicester defender joined in the fun on Sunday, tweeting a caption alongside the picture: "Can you ask the neighbours to put the bins out on Monday?" We just want to finish the job and we will try to do it.

"Look, we are looking forward to hopefully finishing strong".
