Giuliani says he's not anxious about Manafort or Cohen flipping

Cohen also told ABC that he believes the intelligence assessment that Russian Federation interfered in the 2016 election to help Trump.

"Michael Cohen should cooperate with the government", Giuliani said.

However, Giuliani suggested there could have been an "understanding" between Trump and Cohen that he would get repaid $140,000 for things like this "nuisance settlement".

The investigation, headed by former FBI director Robert Mueller, has widely been expected to wind up in the next few months - possibly after a Mueller interview with Trump - but Giuliani said such a meeting now seemed increasingly unlikely.

Although Trump still "wants to testify", as Giuliani insisted, the likelihood of him speaking with Mueller looks increasingly slim.

Federal agents searched Cohen's home and office in April, and speculation has since mounted that he might turn on Trump and provide evidence to federal officials that could implicate the president or his campaign.

The sources made it clear that, in his interview with George Stephanopoulos on ABC two weeks ago, Cohen carefully chose the areas to distinguish himself from the President: First, one source said, "why did (Cohen) say I respect the Federal Bureau of Investigation?".

It's the weekend, which means it's time for Rudy Giuliani to go back onto the Sunday political morning shows and attempt to undermine special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Mr. Giuliani said the investigation wouldn't find any "evidence of wrongdoing" by the president.

Giuliani on Sunday said Mueller's team would first have to demonstrate a "factual basis" for their probes into Russian collusion and obstruction of justice.

Cohen, who hasn't been charged, wouldn't say if he would cooperate with prosecutors in the probe.

"I have a pretty good idea because I've seen all the documents they have, we've debriefed all their witnesses".

In particular, the same sources say Giuliani is wading into unsafe territory when he asks Cohen to "tell the truth" about the Trump Tower meeting with Donald Trump Jr. and Russian meddling in the election.

Trump is "close" to making a determination, but he's been putting off deciding as more details emerge about "bias" on the part of investigators, Rudy Giuliani said on one of three scheduled television appearances on Sunday.

He was asked how he might respond if the president or his legal team came after him and tried to discredit the work he did for Trump over the last decade.

Giuliani claimed on ABC that Comey's testimony was "hardly worth anything" because Trump had a right to fire him.

"It's hard to believe that anymore", he said.

"I have no concerns that Michael Cohen is going to do anything but tell the truth, and if he does, as I said, there's no suggestion that anything happened", Giuliani maintained.
