Jason Momoa Teases Aquaman Trailer Ahead of SDCC Reveal

Warner Bros. just released the first official teaser trailer for the movie at its DC-centric San Diego Comic-Con panel, giving fans of Momoa's recent turn as Aquaman in Justice League a pretty solid reason to be excited that the King of Atlantis, at long last, is getting a spotlight all to himself.

Pictures and director James Wan comes an action-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas.

While Arthur Curry's quest in the upcoming Aquaman film will no doubt put him at odds with Ocean Master, there's still the factor of Yahya Abdul-Mateen II's Black Manta, who will also appear in the film.

It tells the origin story of Aquaman - a half human, half-Atlantean named Arthur Curry (Momoa). The actor has previously stated that we will indeed see Black Manta in the DC universe beyond Aquaman and there's always the possibility that he could be a future member of a certain group that Lex Luthor is starting, whether that's an Injustice Gang, Secret Society, or Legion of Doom.

Directed by James Wan from a script by Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (The Conjuring 2), from the story by Geoff Johns, Wan and Beall, the film is being produced by Peter Safran and Rob Cowan, with Zack Snyder, Deborah Snyder, Rob Cowan, Jon Berg, Walter Hamada, and Geoff Johns serving as executive producers. They are joined by costume designer Kym Barrett ("The Matrix" trilogy, "The Amazing Spider-Man") and composer Rupert Gregson-Williams ("Wonder Woman").

Aquaman is scheduled for release December 21, 2018.
