Microsoft will introduce new Xbox hardware and accessories next month

Interestingly, the company initially described the stream as featuring 'all-new Xbox hardware' in the post, although quickly edited the blurb presumably because people were losing their shit and expecting a new Xbox console.

A live Inside Xbox stream at Gamescom in August will play host to the reveal of 'all-new Xbox bundles and accessories, ' Microsoft has announced.

E3 may have come and gone, but that doesn't mean gamers are done with major news and big events for the year. It's reportedly being developed under the codename of Scarlett, and may be a family of devices rather than just a new console. It seems unlikely that they'd unveil something "all-new" so soon and at an event like Gamescom, but that's exactly what Major Nelson is saying.

Xbox also plans to announce a few new bundles for the Xbox One S and Xbox One X, as well as some new accessories.

Microsoft Xbox Elite Wireless Controller

Less than a year after launching the Xbox One X, Microsoft is already teasing more new hardware.

Apart from that, Microsoft will have the annual Xbox FanFest on Thursday, August 23.

But wait. There's more: There is a telling difference between the Microsoft announcement blog post and the one that appears on the Xbox blog post. However, Microsoft is working on a successor of the Xbox Elite Controller and the company might launch it during Gamescom. More importantly, though, is that it has a lineup of "25 games across a diverse range of genres" to show at its booth during the show. We'll just have to tune in to the live show at 4:30 PM CEST on Tuesday, August 21 to find out.
