Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes join Everton

Everton have signed Yerry Mina, the Barcelona defender, after being given an additional two hours to finalise the signing and taking their summer spending to about £80 million.

Everton have signed Portugal worldwide Andre Gomes on a season-long loan from Barcelona.

All of the Everton and Fulham dealings materialised close to the deadline, while the early stages of the day were dominated by Chelsea, who confirmed Mateo Kovacic's arrival after signing Kepa Arrizabalaga late on Wednesday.

Everton have beaten the clock to secure the transfer of Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Bernard before the window closed, the club announced on their official website.

The Toffees secured the signings of Barcelona duo Mina and Gomes, before tying up the loose ends to bring in Brazil worldwide Bernard from Shakhtar Donetsk.

But Bernard instead opted to link up with Marco Silva at Goodison Park.

He said: "I chose Everton because of all the things I had heard about Marco Silva and after speaking to him I was happy with what he said to me".

Gomes has always been a fringe player at Barcelona, despite signing for a fee of £31m plus €20m in add-ons in 2016, with only 46 appearances made in La Liga since joining from Valencia. He is a very good coach and he has achieved really good things at other clubs.

'They are historically among the four most successful clubs in England and when I found out about the club and what the manager wanted from me, I was happy.

'I have watched the Premier League for a long time.

The defender will leave Camp Nou despite only joining in January, but the Catalan side have included a buy-back option in the deal.
