Barcelona will have a buy-back option on Yerry Mina

He has been able to confirm the first of those deals with Brazilian playmaker Bernard arriving on a four-year contract on Thursday afternoon.

Everton beat a host of Premier League and European clubs to the signing of Bernard with the Brazilian global becoming Marco Silva's fourth signing of the summer after Richarlison, Digne and Virginia.

"I did not need any convincing to come here".

Speaking to evertontv, Bernard said that the chance to join a "great club with great tradition" was the key driving factor behind his decision to sign for the club, vowing to help "make things happen" alongside former Watford manager Silva. The two player will team up again with another ex-blaugrana, Lucas Digne, who made the move to the English club at the beginning of August.

"We have a very good squad, with very good players and it is very hard to add players to that", he said.

Both players will undeniably strengthen Everton as they prepare for what promises to be a challenging season.

Barcelona originally purchased the Palmeiras player in January, paying 11.8 million euros, a very small amount considering the prices that were being paid for other centre-backs at the time.

The winger will provide competition to the likes of Richarlison, Theo Walcott and Yannick Bolasie at Goodison Park, and gives Silva another attacking option to fulfil his pledge of playing a more advanced, positive style of play, in relation to his remit of pleasing the Toffees faithful.

The club also confirmed that Andre Gomes will join the Toffees on a season-long loan.
