Demi Lovato's Apparent Overdose Likely Due To Oxycodone Laced With Fentanyl

The "Sorry Not Sorry" singer is now in Chicago for treatment with a therapist who specializes in mental health, wellness and sobriety.

Demi Lovato, at the Billboard Music Awards in May, will be getting treatment "for several months" following her apparent overdose.

It's a true miracle that Demi Lovato didn't die from her alleged drug overdose as she reportedly mixed two of the most powerful and addictive opioids out there.

The 25-year-old singer is now in rehab following a suspected overdose three weeks ago but, although details on the incident are being tightly guarded, it's been claimed that she had inhaled a painkiller combined with the depressant drug - the same medication that killed Prince - and that led to her falling unconscious.

It seems that the dealer stopped by with two freebased Oxycodone on tin foil. She also went to Chicago with her mother for treatment with an addiction specialist.

'I want to thank God for keeping me alive, ' she wrote. TMZ claims that sources with 'direct knowledge'of Lovato's recent situation claim that Demi had been partying in West Hollywood when she began texting her drug contact. However, the batch "appeared to be laced with fentanyl". TMZ says Lovato refused to tell paramedics what drug she took, but representatives for the singer disputed earlier reports that she overdosed on heroin. She was then transported by first responders to the emergency room.

A friend of the 25-year-old told E!

"Now demi is much better". "She has become more open and is happy she is getting the help she needs".

Additionally, Lovato seems to understand the severity of what happened and that she almost lost her life.
